はるか昔、長い時間をかけて地球のプレートがここで衝突し、富士山をはじめとする火山群や雄大な高原を生み出しました。降り注ぐ雪や雨は熔岩層に吸い込まれ、美しい地下水となって、山麓の各地でこんこんと湧きました。豊かな水を求めて、生き物が集い、人が暮らし、まちができました。世界的にも類を見ない、壮大な大地の物語を持つ伊豆半島の三島。わたしたち加和太はここで育ちました。
地形を正確につかみ、地面の奥深くまでを理解し、水の流れや風雨、時の流れをも計算し、強い構造物をつくりあげる。土木とは、大地と人間の対話です。生きていく地盤づくりです。その地盤の上に、人の暮らし、産業や文化を育む舞台を建ち上げるのが建築です。70年以上にわたり、わたしたち加和太は土木、建築という事業を通じ、ときに厳しさも見せる自然と、人の暮らしの調和を生み出すお手伝いをしてきました。多くの経験を通じて、まちを形づくる技術を鍛えてきました。
ものをつくるだけでなく、住まい探しのサービス、商業施設や飲食店、高齢者施設などの運営も手がけるようになると、わたしたちはこのまちの暮らし、人のこころにふれるようになりました。
目を輝かせた子どもたち、生まれ育った地域に誇りを抱く大人、年齢を感じさせないアクティブな高齢者の方たちに出会いました。多くの情報や、まちづくりのアイディアが集まるようになり、あらためて、静岡県東部地域の大きな可能性に気づかされたのです。

そのようなわたしたちの取り組みが世界に知られ、世界中の人たちが視察に訪れるようなまちを静岡県東部につくりたい。その実現のために加和太は働いていきたいのです。

Eons ago, tectonic plates converged upon this area, creating with the passing of time a huge plateau and a string of volcanoes, crowned by the splendor of Mt. Fuji.
Seeping through layers of lava, snowmelt and rainfall are transformed into clear groundwater, flowing from springs throughout the foothills.
Attracted by this abundance of water, living things flourished and humans established settlements, which grew into communities and towns.
Located at the top of the Izu Peninsula, the city of Mishima was shaped by this majestic geographical saga. This is Kawata Construction’s home.

For more than 70 years, Kawata has been engaged in civil engineering and construction, promoting harmony between people’s lives and the sometimes harsh realities of nature.

In addition to building tangible things, we maintain close contact with our fellow townspeople through local endeavors including housing location services and operation of commercial centers, restaurants, and facilities for the elderly. We encounter children with their eyes agleam, grown-ups who take pride in their hometown, and elders whose active approach to life belies their age. As volumes of information and ideas for development converged, we became newly aware of the huge potential of our eastern area of Shizuoka Prefecture.
